Clear Aligners

Clear aligners are a popular, non-invasive alternative to traditional metal braces for straightening teeth. They are a series of clear plastic aligners that fit over your teeth, gradually moving them into the desired position over time. At Gwynne Dental we use Spark clear aligners.

The process begins with a consultation with Dr Xenia Bolger who will assess your teeth and create a treatment plan. Scans will be taken of your teeth and will be used to create a 3D model of your teeth in their current position. A digital mock-up is then created of the desired end result. This is used to create a series of custom-made aligners that will gradually move your teeth into the desired position.

Each aligner is worn for a specific period of time, usually around one week, before being replaced with the next aligner in the series. They are designed to be worn for around 22 hours a day, only being removed for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing.
