As we age, our teeth can chip, crack or become discoloured. Additionally, many of us suffer from minor malocclusion, crowding or unsightly gaps between teeth. Though in many cases these minor dental flaws don’t negatively affect a person’s oral health, they can have a real and lasting impact on that person’s confidence and self-esteem. Your smile is important – it leaves a lasting impression on others and can have a direct effect on your social and personal life. With porcelain veneers we can mask these minor cosmetic imperfections to revitalise the smile. These tooth-shaped dental prosthetics, roughly the thickness of an egg shell, are placed on the surfaces of the front teeth to act as a façade, masking flaws while creating a uniform, natural and healthy appearance.
The first step towards your new and improved smile is contacting Gwynne Dental for a consultation. Our small team of experienced dentists can evaluate your oral health, discuss your cosmetic goals with you in detail, advise you of your treatment options and recommend the best course of action.
Dental porcelain veneers are then provided as planned over two main treatment appointments which can be finished within 10 days. At the first appointment the teeth are prepared. This process involves trimming back a thin layer from the front surface and biting edge to make space for the veneer. Impressions are taken and temporary veneers are made
These treatments are all carried out using our pain-free anaesthetic techniques.
Porcelain veneers are then fitted at the second main treatment appointment. Our veneers are fitted with a multi-layer bonding system that bonds the veneers to the teeth with unparalleled strength. The veneers are polished and bite checked and then revealed to our patients.
